About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Financial Reporting to take a leadership role in our finance function. At Amplify Hearing, our commitment to financial excellence supports our mission to deliver the very best in hearing care across the UK. In this pivotal role, you will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, statutory compliance, and strategic planning, ensure the smooth running of our finance department and providing vital insights to support business growth.

This is a hands-on leadership position, guiding a talented finance team and working closely with our Chief Financial Officer to shape the group’s financial strategy.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the production of monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Monitor cash flow and provide detailed financial insights.
  • Create and oversee group budgets, reporting performance against targets.
  • Translate financial performance for all JVP entities and internal departments, ensuring clarity and understanding.
  • Supervise and develop the Financial Reporting Team, fostering professional growth.
  • Assist the CFO with financial modelling, appraisals, forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.
  • Lead preparation of year-end statutory accounts.
  • Maintain and improve financial processes to ensure audit readiness.
  • Ensure financial processes are embedded and followed across the group.

About You
You will be a strategic thinker and hands-on leader with significant experience in financial reporting, ideally within a multi-entity or healthcare environment. You will be adept at interpreting financial data, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with statutory obligations. Your leadership style will inspire and develop your team, while your attention to detail ensures accuracy and consistency.

Essential skills and experience include:

  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and knowledge of accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, etc.).
  • Proven track record in financial reporting, budgeting, and statutory compliance.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
  • In-depth understanding of VAT and partial exemption within the healthcare sector.
  • Experience in preparing a business for external audit.
